Decadal was created by myself for my Introduction to Graphic Communications class.
I had the freedom of selecting a graphic design trend in a specific time period in any medium. I chose to use InDesign to create a magazine spread on graphic design trends in the 1980s. Each section of the spread is tailored to match the design trend being written about with carefully chosen fonts and graphics.
My favourite part about creating this magazine was designing the front cover as I got to explore different font effects along with 3D graphics (floating neon shapes). The most challenging part was creating the chrome effect in "1980s" since the text gradients had to be placed in a way that appeared as a chrome reflection.
